In the last year, we’ve seen an acceleration of OTT consumption, with 82 million households now streaming an average of 100 hours of content in a month. Both OTT households and total hours spent watching OTT have increased by more than 20 percent since January 2020.
In response, streaming service providers, media producers and networks have been experimenting with ad-supported and non-ad supported plans, direct to streaming releases, and investment in original content in a bid to engage subscribers and win over the growing OTT viewer base.
